Interactive Visualization Tool

I was in a Human Development class where I had to research adolescents and their behaviors when I first heard about the website. What I seemed to come across a lot was cyber bullying. I had even seen advertising on television and heard stories on the news about it. Well it just so happens that a 24 year old made an effort to stop it and created a website that people can join and share their stories with different people across the country. The page shows a map and you can see the activities in every state. I though the site was an innovative effort to support the cause. The website is even linked with Twitter and Facebook. A reporter described it as "In essence, the tool is a kind of interactive map that lets kids post ways in which they are fighting abuse, find resources if they’re suffering from bullying, and see where and how others are doing their part. They can also suggest resources that might be missing from the map."

  1. I have seen a lot of cyber bullying especially growing up in the 21st century. I have seen my friends bully others just for the laughs. I believe that reading something causes more of an impact on someone because when they read the text, it can be taken into any tone or voice they imagine. Bullying is harmful to several teenagers and I can imagine there are several other sites besides this one that work to prevent cyber bullying.

  2. I am glad that there are positive sites on the internet such as this one. A lot of people may say that the internet has a negative impact on children and teenagers, but websites like these prove otherwise.
