Everloop: The Tween Version of Facebook?

A new social network site, Everloop, was recently launched. This new site is exclusively for tweens to post comments and even upload pictures. Signing up requires that a parent give consent and even goes as far as asking for a credit card number for increased security. Parents are able to monitor their child(ren)'s activity and control who their child connects with. With all the monitoring, I don't think that tweens will be interested in the website.

  1. This is an interesting site because more social networks are offering exclusiveness to their site. Example, this site allows for only teens and other sites only allow for college student or only certain religious sections. Many sites are switching to this type of exclusive networking. However, i wonder if there is an increase in teen bullying on this site.

  2. I whole heartedly agree. Why would tweens want to go into a censored site willingly when they can get into uncensored sites like facebook, twitter, and myspace with only an email as the only requirment. Its just to easy to access sites like those and have the freedom they crave.

  3. I don't think that this website will do all that well. With our society and how kids are growing up these days, they won't be interested in being censored. An alarming number of tweens are joining facebook, myspace, twitter and other various popular social networking sites. Being censored on a website will surely sound disinteresting to tweens. Especially when facebook have groups for all sorts of actors/actress, movies, etc.

  4. I think this website is great for tweens, especially because parents can monitor what they do on this website and who they talk to. It would be nice if most tweens would be willing to join somthing like this but unfortunately, I do not think they will. Maybe the parents can give some sort of incentive for joining this social newtwork as opposed to joining facebook.
