3-D Smart Phone

While Nintendo plans on becoming the first to launch a gadget that posses the three- dimensional visuals, HTC has unveiled the EVO 3D, a follow-up to Sprint Nextel's breakout smartphone. It has a 4.3-inch touchscreen, which can display eye-popping 3-D without needing glasses. Users will also be able to capture photos and videos in 3-D using a pair of cameras on the back.

  1. I believe this is really cool because this could be used in many different ways. For instance, augmented reality on your phone. This could be benefical to career professionals that are in industries that need this type of technology to do the work faster, e.g.. construction. An architect could map out a room right on his phone, I think this is going to be huge the next 20-30 years.

  2. I don't really understand the obsession we have for 3d. Suddenly every move is coming out in 3d, tv's are now 3d I just wonder why? I get the usage you mention for work but I am surrounded by 3d objects already, I don't need a fancy piece of machinery to make more things 3d.

  3. I understand the crave to forward technology, but I find this a little too much. The ds just came out with their 3d gaming console, and that's fine (because there is also a toggle button to turn on/off the 3d graphics). This is for entertainment. A phone just seems a little much and honestly, rather pointless.
